Model Description and Notes
by Monkey-Knuckles
This model is based on the Ideal 55 Pepsi machine. The Ideal company produced these type machines in the mid-fifties. Probably the Ideal 55 was produced in 1955.
They are sometimes referred to as sliders because after you deposit a coin you must "slide" your bottle along the rack to release it.
Teenagers in that era figured out how to defeat the system by uncapping the bottles and sipping out the soda with a straw.
This is based on the Pepsi version, although at the time there were "sliders" for most popular bottled soft drinks.
